Veel mensen kennen de leeuw Aslan als de machtige en diplomatieke held uit de Chronicles of Narnia (boeken en film). Hij is de mystieke gids die de strijders tegen het kwaad met woord en daad bijstaat. Hieronder volgt een citaat:

"The girls look at Cair Paravel when the first ray of gold breaks out over the horizon. At that moment they heard from behind them a loud noise — a great cracking, deafening noise as if a giant had broken a giant’s plate…. The Stone Table was broken into two pieces by a great crack that ran down it from end to end; and there was no Aslan."

De boeken bevatten veel metaforen. Hieronder volgt een uitleg over de metafoor die de schrijver (Lewis) heeft gebruikt:

"Aslan’s resurrection clearly parallels the resurrection of Christ. Moreover, the Stone Table on which he is sacrificed evokes the stone tablets that Moses brought down from Mount Sinai — and Lewis acknowledged that he had Moses’s tablets in mind when he described the Stone Table.

The strange symbols and runes carved into this unimaginably ancient artifact seem to be relics of an old Narnian religion, the religion the Witch invokes when she calls upon the Deep Magic. Indeed, the Witch says that the Deep Magic is carved into the Stone Table itself.

When the Stone Table breaks, the event signifies the end of an era. Narnia undergoes a transition from an old, unforgiving faith to a new, vibrant, and compassionate one. The same thing can be said to have happened when Christ rose from the dead: God’s old covenant with man was replaced with a new covenant. Aslan’s suffering and death both renews and transforms the Deep Magic that governs the universe of Narnia."

De eerste zonnestraal heb ik zelf ook mogen ervaren bij de volledige zonsverduistering in 2010. Als zon en maan één worden, ontstaat de diamant, waaruit een fantastische straal naar de aarde gestuurd wordt. Een straal vol belofte, een boodschap van liefde en vrede. Het is niet in woorden uit te drukken welk gevoel deze energie teweegbrengt.

Ook Pure Touch, een healingtechniek, maakt gebruik van de gouden kosmische energie van de leeuw. Daarbij staat de leeuw voor de universele liefdesenergie en is daarmee gelijk aan de heilige graal.

Deze cursusdag is gericht op de nieuwe tijd. De oude tijd is gebroken. Het patriarchaat is een gepasseerd station. We maken verbinding met dit gouden licht en zullen ervaren hoe deze energie ons zelf zal transformeren en in contact zal brengen met ons ware thuis.
